About this SSC signature resize
The SSC signature is a small image with a tight file limit. Because it is so small, faint pencil marks, grey paper or a shadowed corner can inflate the file without making the signature any clearer. This preset uses a wide, short frame at 6 × 2 cm and aims for 10 to 20 KB. The clean-up option turns the background white and the ink dark, which usually gives a crisp result at a small size. Check the notification for the exact signature size and ink rules.
How to resize it step by step
Sign on a plain white sheet using a dark pen. Avoid light pencil or pale blue ink unless the notification allows it.
Photograph the signature in good daylight, or scan it, and save the file on your device.
Upload it here. The SSC Signature preset sets the frame to 6 × 2 cm and the range to 10 to 20 KB.
Tick Clean signature to whiten the paper and darken the ink, then adjust the threshold until the strokes look solid.
Press Make exam ready and download. Check the before and after preview to confirm the signature still looks like you.
Common reasons for rejection
- Signature too faint, often because of pencil or light blue ink.
- Grey or yellow paper, shadows, or fingers visible at the edge of the image.
- File above 20 KB because the photo is at full camera resolution with noise.
- Signature cut off at the edges or too small inside the frame.
- A signature that does not match the one on other official documents.
Tips for a better result
- Sign inside a box or on a single line of white paper so the frame is easy to fill.
- Use the Threshold slider carefully. A value that is too high erases thin strokes.
- Keep the original file so you can redo the clean-up if the first try looks broken.
- Avoid zooming the crop too far in; a very tight crop leaves no room around the ink.
Frequently asked questions
What is the size of the SSC signature?
The SSC Signature preset uses 6 × 2 cm at 300 DPI, which is about 709 × 236 pixels, with a file size between 10 KB and 20 KB. Some notifications state a different signature size, so confirm the exact requirement before you download.
Should I use blue or black ink?
Dark ink is the safest choice, and black is the most widely accepted. The Blue ink option gives a blue-tinted result, so use it only if the notification or the portal allows blue ink.
My signature looks broken after clean-up. What now?
Lower the threshold so thin strokes are kept, or switch off Clean signature and use only the contrast and sharpness sliders. You can always Undo or Reset.
Can I use the same signature for the photo and the form?
Use the signature you normally sign official papers with. The tool changes only the size, colour and background, not the shape of your signature.
Why does the file size limit matter for signatures?
Signature fields usually have a tight upload limit. A 10 to 20 KB JPEG is small enough to pass while still keeping the strokes readable.
Is my signature stored anywhere?
No. The signature is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to EzSSC servers.
