Indicative Syllabus

General Intelligence & Reasoning: Analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision-making, visual memory, discriminating observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetical number series, non-verbal series.

General Awareness: Environment awareness, current events, India and neighboring countries (Sports, History, Culture, Geography, Economic scene, General Polity including Indian Constitution, and Scientific Research).

English Language: Vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, synonyms, antonyms, correct usage, and writing ability.

Skill Test in Stenography

Qualifying

Candidates who qualify the CBE will be called for the Skill Test. One dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi at the given speed.

Stenographer Grade 'C'

  • Speed: 100 words per minute.
  • Transcription Time: 40 Mins (English) / 55 Mins (Hindi).

Stenographer Grade 'D'

  • Speed: 80 words per minute.
  • Transcription Time: 50 Mins (English) / 65 Mins (Hindi).

📊 Selection & Shortlisting

  • Candidates are shortlisted for the Skill Test based on their performance in the CBE.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBE: UR: 30%, OBC/EWS: 25%, All Other Categories: 20%.
  • Final Selection is based on the normalized marks of the Computer Based Examination, provided the candidate qualifies the Skill Test.

⚙️ Evaluation Policies

  • Normalization: Marks in CBE will be normalized using the Commission's published formula to determine final merit.
  • Tie Resolution: Ties are resolved by checking marks in Part-III (English), then Part-II (GA), then Date of Birth (older placed higher), then alphabetical order.
