200 Marks

Duration: 2 Hours (Sectional timer of 1 Hour for each part).
(2 hours 40 minutes for eligible scribe candidates, with 1 hr 20 mins per section).

Syllabus (Degree Level)

General Hindi: Tests understanding of languages and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms, and ability to write correctly, precisely, and effectively.

General English: Tests candidates' understanding of the English language and literature, correct use of words, phrases and idioms, and ability to write precisely and effectively.

Paper-II (Translation and Essay)

200 Marks

Duration: 2 Hours
(2 hours 40 minutes for eligible scribe candidates).

This paper tests translation skills and the ability to write as well as comprehend both languages correctly, precisely, and effectively. The level is consistent with the prescribed educational qualifications.

  • 1 Translation (H to E): One passage from Hindi to English.
  • 2 Translation (E to H): One passage from English to Hindi.
  • 3 Essay Writing: One essay each in Hindi and English.

⚠️ Strict Instructions for Paper-II

Candidates must write their correct Roll Number, affix signature, and Left-hand Thumb Impression on the cover page. Answer books missing these will be awarded ZERO marks. Writing personal identity (name, address, etc.) inside the Answer Book is considered Unfair Means (UFM) and will also result in ZERO marks.

📊 Selection & Shortlisting

  • Candidates are shortlisted for Paper-II based on their performance in Paper-I.
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks in CBE: UR: 30%, OBC/EWS: 25%, All Other Categories: 20%.
  • Final Merit Weightage: 50% of Paper-I scores + 100% of Paper-II marks.
  • Separate category-wise cut-offs may apply for both papers.

⚙️ Evaluation Policies

  • Normalization: Marks in Paper-I will be normalized if the exam is conducted in multiple shifts to determine final merit.
  • Answer Keys: Tentative Answer Keys for Paper-I will be published online. Representations cost ₹50/- per question.
  • Re-evaluation: There is NO provision for re-evaluation or re-checking of scores.
